Hey uuuh im new to the whole Anthro artwork thing and i was hoping if you could help me out a bit with getting started. I only have one question and that is, do you think its more useful to learn how to draw regular anime then learn how to draw Anthro?

Well, since you asked... I think you should stay away from anime for the moment and focus on life drawing. The best thing for someone who is learning is to grasp the core fundamentals of drawing in correct proportions and being able to create perspective and dimension on paper. Being able to do this means you would be capable of success in many different fields of art, not just anthropomorphic or anime.

After you feel comfortable with your basic education on drawing, then I would move toward a particular subject, such as anthropomorphic or even anime.

No company wants a one trick pony. That means only being to do one thing very well, rather than several things adequately. Its rough to juggle, but with enough practice (which there isn't enough practice... you should be learning new things in art and life everyday of your life) you'll get the hang of it. Get to the basics, then go where you please.

:) you can do it. Just study hard and practice the fundamentals, even when you become a pro. Even master artists learn new things all the time. Best wishes.

well its good to see your back online, I must admit I feared the worst when we last contacted, which was a few years back. I have to admit I wouldn't had been back on here if it wasn't for a spambot posting under one of your old email accounts. Just so you know I'm the guy who talked to you about a suikoden bar commission that never went further then the drafts.

Sorry for the late response, I don't usually log onto here. I'm writing a graphic novel, and you're style is exactly what I'm looking for. As most of the characters for this particular story are Anthropomorphic wolves, Aquatic bipeds, and bestial humans. Was hoping to work something out with you a far as doing this. I draw myself but nowhere near as good you. But I do have the characters designed. And in the process of finishing up the first book which is made up of about 20 chapters. If you're interested email be back at silentsoto@yahoo.com or check out my artwork at [link] thanks.
